An Invitation to Health ~ Drink Oxylent. Breathe Life.
Vitamin E, though unmatched in antioxidant power, is often called the “overlooked” nutrient due to a lack of research interest. Vitamin A also suffers from a lack of exposure, but for a different reason: deficiency, thankfully, is rare in America.
But the truth is that most people still don’t get the recommended daily intake of these nutrients — only about 30 percent of the population uses a supplement with vitamin A, and a whopping 90 percent of Americans fall short on vitamin E recommendations. So we decided to address this, by adding them both to our Adult Oxylent formula.
Here’s what you need to know about Vitamin A:
It’s critical for immune function. Vitamin A helps maintain the structural and functional integrity of the mucosal cells that act as a barrier against infections, and can provide the “directions” needed for immune cells to find their place in the intestine. Plus, A can send a “calm down” message to the immune system, so it can fight intruders without damaging the body.
It boosts eye health. Without vitamin A, the eye cannot produce enough moisture to keep it healthy, and vitamin A also assists the pigment production necessary for the retina to work properly. Without it? Night blindness can occur.
Vitamin E shines in three main areas:
General free radical protection. As an antioxidant, vitamin E can fight cell-damaging molecules called free radicals, which may play a role in heart disease, cancer, and age-related diseases like Alzheimer’s Disease.
Cognitive health. Some research links high blood levels of vitamin E with a lower risk of mild cognitive impairment. Additional studies show that Alzheimer’s patients present higher levels of vitamin E damage.
Immune function. An an antioxidant, vitamin E protects the cell membranes of T cells, the primary “fighters” of the immune system.
Overlooked? Not anymore. At Vitalah, we don’t overlook these proven benefits. Adult Oxylent has been upgraded to include 1500 IU vitamin A (30% DV) and 30 IU vitamin E (100% DV) per serving.
