New Study: Vitamin D May Help Maintain Immunity in Older Generations

A new study suggests that vitamin D may be involved in maintaining the health of our immune system as we age.

The study measured levels of both vitamin D and inflammation markers in 957 people over age 60.

The results found that people who were vitamin D deficient were more likely to have high levels of inflammation markers. These inflammation markers indicate compromised immune function and are linked to heart issues, immune issues, joint issues, and more.

Of course additional studies are needed, but the researchers concluded that “ensuring older individuals have optimal vitamin D levels may be a way to boost immune function in this population.”

This new research adds the growing body of scientific evidence showing the importance of vitamin D to many more aspects of health than we previously thought, and suggest that many of us are likely deficient in this crucial vitamin.

How much vitamin D do we need? Different organizations recommend different daily intakes. The official U.S. governmental recommendations are 600 I.U./day for children and adults, 800 I.U./day for seniors, but many experts believe these are too low for optimal health.

The Endocrine Society recommends 600-1000 I.U./day for children, and 1500-2000 I.U./day for adults. The Vitamin D Council recommends 1000 I.U./day per 25 lbs. of body weight for children, and 5000 I.U./day for adults.

One of the unique advantages of Oxylent multivitamin drinks is that they provide more vitamin D3 than many other daily multivitamins. Each packet of adult Oxylent delivers 1000 I.U. of vitamin D3, along with many other vital nutrients.

Oxylent mixes with water to create a sparkling drink that delivers a 5-in-1 formula of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, electrolytes, and antioxidants in every sip. All with no sugar, GMOs, gluten, dairy, soy, caffeine, or anything artificial.

Take your Oxylent every day! Consistency counts ! My blood tests, etc. come back perfect every time as long as I stay with the ” program”. My recent “meltdown” proved that to me in a very SCARY way. I will not let that happen again ! Stay hydrated and remember your OXYLENT!
